Our sweet Pearl is a very pretty little Pomeranian who lived in a puppy mill before coming to Kiko’s care. At approximately 7.5 years of age and a little over 8 pounds, life is just beginning for this gentle soul. Pearl’s first foster parents fell for her charming personality and intended to adopt her, but her foster dad developed a serious health condition that unfortunately changed their plans.
Pearl is very affectionate and enjoys being with her people. She follows her foster mom everywhere and is a true lap dog who enjoys snuggling. Pearl is getting the hang of housetraining with pee pads but still has a couple of accidents, so please do not apply if you are not prepared to work with this issue. We have evaluated Pearl both with other dogs and as an only dog, and she seems to do well in both settings; she is also very good with cats. While she was staying at her first foster home with other dogs, Pearl was more of a barker when visitors arrived but she seems to be quieter as an only dog. That being said, a quieter household with either older or no children would likely be the best scenario for Pearl, and no apartments would be preferable to ensure a forever home. Someone home at least part of the day would be most comforting for her. Pearl is quite good on leash and really enjoys going for walks—a refreshing change from life in a puppy mill—and is surprisingly not spooked by passing traffic.
Please complete an adoption questionnaire if you are interested in adopting Pearl.
